Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
Yes, your card is captured at signup, but every plan starts with a real 14-day free trial before you're ever charged. Full platform access from day one, no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime before your trial ends at no cost. We use PayFast for secure South African payment processing: card, EFT, and more.
Can I add university students, not just high school?
Yes. Tuvor supports both high school (Grades 8–12) and undergraduate university students. Each student type has its own profile fields.
Do students need to pay to use Tuvor?
No. Students and their parents or guardians have free access to the student hub. Only tutors pay the monthly subscription.
Does Tuvor work for in-person tutoring?
Yes. Set your default format, or each session's format individually, to online, in person, or both. Session notes, homework, payments, and parent/guardian reports work identically either way, you only use the built-in video rooms if and when you actually want them.
Is there a setup fee or contract?
No setup fee, no contracts. It's R249/month. Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription in your dashboard. If automatic cancellation isn't available when you try, email support@tuvor.co.za and we'll cancel your subscription manually within 1 business day.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your dashboard access ends as soon as your subscription is cancelled. If you need a copy of your data, email support@tuvor.co.za before cancelling and we'll help you export it.
